The fourth live action Disney Plus series is live today with the first three episodes available to watch.
It felt like Andor was one of the most unusual projects planned, picking a character fromRogue One and giving them their own series separate from seemingly all other existing series, but the grounded nature of the "birth of the rebellion" seems to already be winning early fans tired of massCGI and
Now that critic reviews have arrived, Andor is doing a good job. This is how it stacks up against the other Disney Plus series we have seen so far.
I included the animated series in there and they have been well received. In terms of live action, Andor is second only to both seasons of The Mandalorian.
I will wait and see what the number settles at over time, but I know many will look for audience scores. I think that it will change in one direction or the other, and currently it is at a 76%.
Andor is a full-on TV series, not a movie chopped up into episodes, and the show is supposed to run for 12 episodes in season 1 here, with eyes towards a second season that will end once it runs into the events ofRogue One.
So, the fate of Andor may already be decided, but I wonder what lessons may be learned from it if it pays off, less reliant on computer-generated imagery than other shows, etc. I was a big fan of the new Star Wars movies and will be checking it out later today.
