Only five players in the history of the major league have ever hit 60 home runs in a single season, and New York Yankees' Judge was one of them.

Roger Maris' American League single-season record of 61 home runs, set in 1961, stands as the major league mark for 37 years.

With his 60th home run, Judge equaled Babe Ruth for eighth place on the single-season home run list.

"I think it's right there with some of the best, very short list of all-time seasons, what he's doing, and I'm pretty sure that's what he's trying to do," said Yankees manager What's at stake for us as a team is our main focus. You can see what a special season is when you watch what he's doing.

Six different players have hit 60 home runs in MLB history. Ruth, Maris, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa were also members of the Hall of Fame.

Judge's 59 home runs were the most ever by a right-handed batter in the American League. Judge is the third member of the storied Yankees franchise to have at least two 50-HR seasons, joining Ruth and Mickey.

Judge is also trying to break Maris' home run record.

Luis Arraez leads the American League in batting average with a.336 average. The Triple Crown has been won by 11 players since 1920, and Judge has a chance to be the 11th.
