A mother said in a now-viral TikTok that she and her son were shopping for fabrics to make him a dress when an employee of the company made comments about him.

A woman who goes by the name of "Palousedressco" on TikTok took her son to a store in Moscow, Idaho to get materials for his dress.

She said she wanted to cheer up her son after he was told he had been bullied for wearing a dress.

There was a Spider-Man patterned fabric at the store. The employee asked Phillip's son what he was making and he replied a Spider-Man dress. The female employee said she was confused about whyPhillips was making the dress.

The woman stopped what she was doing. She asked more questions after stopping measuring. I tried to stop the conversation a number of times.

The employee lectured the two and told them that boys can't wear dresses.

I was trying to stay calm as I saw red. It's difficult to model appropriate behavior in the moment, as I was aware that my son was watching and listening.

I tried to remain calm, speak bluntly, and clearly put up a boundary. I repeatedly told her to stop.

The boy took an interest in wearing a dress after watching Frozen, according to the mother.

He found a pink fabric in my sewing room that was covered in butterflies and he wanted to dress out of it. I told you to come to the right spot.

A week after the incident, she posted on TikTok about her experience at the store and got more than 4 million views.

The employee was fired for making inappropriate, judgmental and derogatory remarks.

She said she remembers working with an employee who would sometimes proselytize while she was at work.

She was happy to see that she was no longer there. It's a reflection on the culture of that store and the company, how that kind of thing slips through the cracks and how that was able to go on for so long.

She wants to see a little more done before we go back.

After the store experience, she spoke with her son and told him to keep being himself and proud of himself, and offered advice to other parents, according to Insider.
