Raymond Dearie
  • There was a chaotic start to the first hearing in the Trump probe.

  • In the early minutes of the hearing, callers shouted over each other.

  • Dearie initially objected to some of the arguments made by the Trump team.

The opening of Raymond Dearie's first hearing sounded like a white noise as technical difficulties began to mount.

Staff in the Brooklyn courtroom scrambled to get the audio right as the volume for all audio callers was left unmuted, causing a shouting match in the early moments of the hearing.

Dearie pressed Donald Trump's lawyers about their argument that the documents they took to Mar-a-Lago were already declassified.

Kyle Cheney reported that participants who were left unmuted spoke at the same time. One person sang America the Beautiful and the other person said Trump is a criminal. People were yelling at each other to quiet themselves.

Don't use the phones, assholes!" The person who called into the hearing told them to "mute the phones, assholes!" according to the Washington Post reporter.

Some of the documents at Mar-a-Lago may be privileged because Trump left handwritten notes on them, according to a Tuesday court filing.

Dearie seemed to agree with the government's assessment of which documents are classified. That's the end of it.
