Beyond Meat suspended its COO Doug Ramsey after he was arrested and charged with biting a man's nose during a fight after a football game.
Jonathan Nelson, the company's senior vice president of manufacturing operations, will take over on an interim basis.
The company didn't explain why Ramsey was suspended.
There was an incident at the parking garage near the stadium after the game. The police report states that Ramsey became angry when another driver cut in front of him and touched the front passenger wheel. Ramsey got out of his car and hit the other driver. The police report said that when the other driver got out of his car, Ramsey pulled him close and began punching him and biting the tip of his nose. The driver told police that Ramsey threatened to kill him. The executive was accused of threatening and battery. According to court records, he was released on bail on Sunday and has a court date in October over the charges. Ramsey has worked at Tyson Foods for over 30 years.
