An NBA player has been fined for using offensive and derogatory language on social media.

While watching a group of people stand on a sidewalk, he made anti-gay comments. The league said that the video has been deleted and that the player acknowledged that his actions were inappropriate.

Following the incident, he apologized on his account.

"I'm incredibly sorry for what I said, it was immature, disrespectful and wrong," he wrote. I don't understand why anyone would use that language in such a way. I wasn't raised like that.

Last week, the Wolves expressed their disappointment with the comments made by Edwards.

The statement attributed to team president Tim Connelly said they were "disappointed in the language and actions Anthony Edwards displayed on social media." The Timberwolves apologized for the offense they have caused and are committed to being an inclusive and welcoming organization.
