My admiration for the filmmakers that have made these films goes to all of them. It was like we also have a responsibility to just lose ourselves in this and allow it to take, so we were holding that in as high regard as we can, but also, and this is something that we all talked about as a team, and I think everyone was on board for it
io9 was able to inquire about the film's title, which follows the trend of later entries in the series being named after the first film in the series. He was asked if Hellraiser would be a sequel, a remake or something else.
The sound of Hellraiser sounded better than the sound of Hellraiser 11. We would put the year on it when we talked about it. It didn't feel right to put another title on it. It is a re-imagining to one degree. It fits in with the world of Hellraiser and what you've seen before. It is not a strict canon. We allow our imaginations to run with this. I believe that movies are dreams and sometimes they present strange versions of one another, and that we should just embrace that. My suggestion to fans is to just watch the film and not think about what it means in the series. I have no idea. What conversations grow from there will be seen.
