Las Vegas Grand Prix
The Las Vegas Grand Prix's 3.8-mile track will include a portion of the Nevada resort city's famous Strip

The governing body of Formula 1 has confirmed that there will be a record 24 races.

Despite the loss of the French Grand Prix, the new race in Las Vegas will be the longest ever season.

The season finishes in Abu Dhabi on November 26th.

The last event will be Las Vegas on November 18th, while China will be back on April 16th after three years.

After securing new contracts, Monaco and Belgium retained their places, but only for a year.

The British Grand Prix will take place in July.

The country's management of Covid has led to some doubts about China.

The Chinese government will be asked about how it will manage any positive cases before the race starts.

The calendar is put together by F1 but was confirmed on Tuesday by the world governing body of motor sport.

The grid for the main Grand Prix will be decided on the Saturday with no details of the events that will be'sprints'.

In the spring, F1 and the teams agreed to increase the number of these from three to six, but Mohammed ben Sulayem has so far been preventing the plan from being implemented.

TheFIA wanted to study the impact of increasing the number of sprints on its staff and resources.

Senior sources close to the situation say that Ben is asking for more financial input from F1 in return for his agreement.

There was no hold-up on the sprint events, but it was just not what was being announced today, according to an official from the FIA.

The spokesman said they were not aware there was a specific deadline.

Formula 1 has unprecedented demand to host races and it is important we get the balance right for the entire sport.

"We are very pleased with the strong momentum Formula 1 continues to experience and it is great news that we will be able to bring our passionate fans a mix of exciting new locations such as Las Vegas to the Championship with much loved Venues across Europe, Asia and the Americas."

The record calendar is evidence of the growth and appeal of the sport on a global scale, according to Ben.

There is no place for a race in South Africa in the foreseeable future.

In June, Domenicali flew to South Africa to meet with representatives of the Kyalami circuit, but a deal couldn't be reached for the sport to come back to Africa.

The last time there was an F1 race on the continent was in 1993 when the Grand Prix of Kyalami took place.

F1 is trying to get Kyalami back on the calendar.
