Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb admits scoring late touchdown vs. New York Jets 'cost us the game'

Chubb said he should've gone down instead of scoring in the last two minutes of the game.

Chubb scored a 12-yard touchdown run with . York missed the kick. With the Jets already out of timeouts, the Jets could have ended the game with Chubb not scoring.

The Jets became the first team in 21 years to come back from a 13 point deficit in the last two minutes.

Chubb said he probably shouldn't have scored at that point. I think it cost us the game. A lot of things didn't go according to plan. We could have all done things differently. It is only a problem because we did not win. I think I should have gone down.

The Jets answered on the second play of the next drive. A 66-yard touchdown was scored by quarterback Joe Flacco.

After the Jets recovered the onside kick, Flacco drove New York down the field, capping his drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Wilson to give the Jets a 31-30 lead.

"At the end of the day, I've been in that situation before and so I really can't put it on anyone but myself at this point," said Chubb, who ran for 87 yards and three touchdown against New York. I thought the game was over because I was aware of what was happening.

Two years ago, Chubb stepped out of bounds at the 1-yard line after a 59-yard run in the final seconds of the game. The 10-7 victory was secured with the kneeling of the ball.

The coach made a mistake by not telling Chubb to go down again.

It's my responsibility to communicate that to that huddle. If you put yourself up 14 points by the end of the game, you should win it. I wish I'd told Nick and Nick.

It doesn't change the fact that we had lots of chances to win that game.
