The revelation came just over a week after the State Department denounced Russia for violating Navalny's rights by interfering with his defense.
Navalny said his lawyer's papers have been taken away by the administrators of his prison and that they will decide what is relevant to the criminal case.
Officials were limiting Navalny's access to documents, but his lawyers were still able to see records.
He said that authorities are cutting down on the amount of time he can spend with his lawyers.
The Russian government is engaging in "arbitrary interference with Alexei Navalny's rights" according to the State Department.

Navalny was sentenced to nine years in a "strict regime penal colony" after he was found guilty of parole violations relating to a fraud conviction. After falling victim to a failed poisoning attempt in 2020, Navalny became known as the most outspoken critic of Putin. Putin denied being involved in the attack. After the release of his film, "Putin's Palace," which documented the construction of a massive residence along the Black Sea, Navalny's reputation grew even more. Russia's move to invade Ukraine has been blasted by him many times.
