Zdeno Chara is ending his career on Tuesday.
Zdeno Chara will sign a one-day contract with the Boston Bruins to officially retire with the team he spent most of his career with.

In June, Matt Keator, Chara's agent, told Matt Porter of the Boston Globe that Chara was going to take the summer with his family and assess where he's at.
The New York Islanders selected Chara in the third round of the 1996 draft. He played for the Islanders, Senators, Bruins and Caps.
Chara will be considered one of the best defenders of his time. In addition to winning the Stanley Cup with the Bruins, he was an All-Star six times.
He was told by the team that he wouldn't be re-signed after 14 seasons in Boston. Chara signed a one-year contract with the Caps.
Chara had 10 points in 55 games, but he wasn't much of a factor. In 2000-01, he put up nine points with the Islanders.

The NHL named Chara to the All- Decade second team. The Czech star was named to the All-Decade squad by The Athletic.
Chara had a career high of 52 points in the year 2011. He knew how to toe the line and used his long stick to shut down opponents.
For more than 20 years, Chara was an intimidating presence on the ice because of his ability to score. As soon as he is eligible, he will be in the Hall of Fame.
