A rower was going to come. It has been rumored for a long time that the rower is the worst kept secret in the world. It all feels a tadticlimactic now that it's in my living room

I can't say anything. I thought a Peloton rower would be like this. The red accents on the product design, as well as the logo, are all stamped by Peloton. This isn't a problem. The equipment you will find at the gym is not suited for your home. I preferred the more minimalist style of the Hydrow Wave for my living room's aesthetic, but this rower is much prettier.

The row is large It has a footprint of 8 feet by 2 feet. It takes up a large portion of my living room when you first walk into my apartment. It's possible to store it vertically, but you need to make sure it's safe by laying it flat with two feet of clearance on all sides. The wall mount is required to use vertical storage. If you have a landlord who doesn't want you drilling holes in your wall, that could be an issue.

Peloton had some nice designs. The seat is better than most rowers. I'm thankful. I wish the phone holder was large enough to hold a tablets. I just want to rant about the long will-they-won't-they storylines in my K-Dramas.

People between the heights of 4 feet, 11 inches and 6 feet, 5 inches and up to 300 pounds can use the device. I don't know how the Row supports people on the upper end of the height range. If you are on the tall side, you might have some issues, but the Row doesn't have that many things you can do.

The strength of Peloton is in its content and the Row delivers what you would expect. The form assist feature has been the best so far. When you first set up the rower, you need to calibrate the seat and handle for five minutes. There is a figure in the upper left corner of the screen that matches your movements. The areas where you need to improve are in red.

It is not as easy to learn to row as it is to run or ride a bike. The catch, drive, finish, and recovery are part of proper rowing form. You move your legs, body, then arms, and then reverse it in a lot of fitness videos on the internet. If you don't know how to row, you're probably doing it wrong.

You might be doing it wrong.

Form feedback is still a work in progress in connected fitness tech, but it is nice to see that Peloton has included it on the Row. You can get a breakdown of your form and metrics after a workout. If Peloton is to be believed, I need to stop jumping the gun with my body during the drive portion of a stroke.

Personal pace targets and strokes per minute are included in the main screen. The pace ranges that work best for you during intervals are determined by the skill level you choose. Even if you completely ignore them at the end of the class, it is always good to see a recommended range.

You can see form insights at the end of the workout. During a workout, you’ll see real-time form feedback in the same box.

I haven't had time to do all the different types of rowing workouts. The class I took was not easy or hard. The class selection was limited this past week, but should get better as the library expands. There are five to 45 minute classes. There is an option between row bootcamp, row instructions, scenic rows, and just row.

The price did not align with my expectations. Maybe I'm a fool. I expected it to be a lot more expensive than other connected rowers. If you buy accessories like mats, dumbbell, or a heart rate band, you'll pay more for the Row. ory bundles begin at $75 and go up to $375 Delivery and installation are not included in the price. The brand is marketed as a premium brand more than the competition. The Hydrow Wave costs more than the regular Hydrow. The prices of other at- home connected rowers are similar. A regular Concept2 rower is close to $1,000.

Pricing could change. As the company tries to get its business in order, hardware costs have been a problem. This is one of the most expensive at- home rowers available.

Pre orders for the Row start today, with shipping expected in December. You can get a trial at 18 retail locations. Later this year, that will expand to more showrooms.
