Consumers in Southeast Asia prefer to use messaging apps over email to communicate with businesses. There is a central dashboard for the biggest apps. The Malaysia-based company said today it has raised $7 million in Series A funding led by Headline, with participation from AltaIR Capital, Smart Partnership Capital, Sterling Oak Group and Calendula Venture

The dashboard at Respond.io consolidates all the messages a business receives so the right person can see them. Marketing, selling and support tools are included and can be used to automate certain processes. Managers can use a central dashboard to see if a conversation has been dropped and resuscitated.

Respond.io has grown its revenue 25 times since January 2020. Expansion beyond Asia to the Middle East, Europe and Latin America is one of the ways it will use its latest funding.

The launch of Respond.io was done by a group of people. Respond.io uses feedback from its customers to develop its platform. Hundreds of customers can vote for the features they would like to see on the public road map.

About 30% of Respond.io's customers are in Spanish, and a high number of them voted for the platform to be available in Spanish.

The contact merge tool is an example. Customers often message from multiple channels so their chats are being dispersed across different profiles on the platform. Even if a customer starts using a different channel for messages, the Contact Merge tool will still be able to find them.

Even though many customers prefer to use instant messaging, marketing software such as Hubspot andSalesforce only focus on emails.

When people reach out to us on Facebook Messenger, we would ask them to email us so we could follow up, but they would get frustrated and drop off. I knew I had been in their shoes. I didn't like making phone calls to resolve things because I'm from a generation that doesn't use that way.

There was a gap in the market for business instant messaging that was filled by Salandra.

When Respond.io was first created, most messaging apps didn't have an access point. It was unable to connect with any other channels. We were confident that this would change. Proof of concept is needed. A major conglomerate was sold on the reverse-engineering of a popular messaging app to connect to Respond.io's platform. Respond.io was integrated with messaging channels later on.

Messages from different channels are consolidated into a single dashboard by Respond.io's competitors. The product-led growth strategy of Respond.io differentiates it from the rest. We focused on our product and content. We don't sell run-of- the-mill products.

The company's pricing structure was noted by the man. Monthly Active Contacts (MAC) was launched so that clients are only charged for the contacts they talk to.
