Donald Trump's legal team is clashing with Raymond Dearie.

The August 8 raid of Mar-a-Lago by the FBI resulted in the seizure of top- secret materials. The FBI found a lot of classified information, according to Trump. Dearie wants to know if files were declassified or not.

Trump's team appealed Dearie's request in order to keep the details of the top- secret.

According to the filing, Trump's lawyers argue that there's a time and place for him to declassify certain information. They don't want Dearie's team to give him information about whether documents were declassified or not.

According to Trump's lawyers, handing over these documents would force Trump to fully and specifically disclose a defense that he might try to mount to fight off any indictment.

The former president's lawyers are questioning Dearie's suggested deadlines, arguing that his draft plan "comprises the entire inspection and labeling process to be completed by October 7, 2022."

All of the deadlines can be extended to allow for a more realistic and complete assessment of the areas of disagreement, according to the filing.

The documents were seized by the FBI. The agency seized 11 sets of documents during its raid of Mar-a-Lago. The Espionage Act is one of the federal laws being looked into by the DOJ.

The DOJ appealed the decision to appoint a special master. The case could drag on and make its way to the Supreme Court if the DOJ's request for a partial stay on Cannon's decision is granted.

Dearie was the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He was hired by Trump to be a third-party neutral investigator to look into the FBI's raid of Mar-a-Lago. The costs of appointing the special master are being paid for by Trump.

Trump is represented by five lawyers at Ifrah Law.
