Reports began to surface of a troubling issue with the camera of the new phone after it was released.

Some owners of the phone saw the camera mechanism start to vibrate rapidly and make a weird buzzing sound when they used it in their apps.

It can be seen in the video below.

The problem got a lot of attention on social media, with the situation eventually getting the attention of Apple as well.

The tech giant said on Monday that a fix would be released next week.

It will come as a relief to those who have experienced strange behavior on their new phone that it is a software issue and not a hardware problem.

Unless Apple resolves the issue, anyone with an affected phone should not open the camera in third-party apps as there is a risk of permanent damage to the phone's image stabilization system. You can still take photos and videos with the native camera on the iPhone, even though the vibrates don't seem to be occurring.

It is not uncommon for problems to surface with the launch of new phones and other tech devices, and they can usually be fixed via a software update.

Apple isn't immune to tech flubs. The so-called "antennagate" debacle that happened if you held the phone in a certain way happened after the launch of the iPhone 4. The company offered a bumper case or a cash payment if the signal wasn't dropped. The butterfly-mechanism keyboard on some MacBooks was reported to have failed multiple times by users. Apple agreed to make payments to customers.
