Telegram is throwing a bone to its non-premium users by giving them access to more emojis. The feature now allows users to choose from a number of emoji that they can use to add to the conversation. If you are paying $4.99 a month for Premium, you will get an endless supply of reaction options, as well as other new features.

The default seven that can change colors based on the theme can now be used by Telegram Premium subscribers. You can use a rotating controller to indicate that you are busy fragging on your console. It will appear in chat lists, groups, and on your profile page, which is where you can apply the status.

For users who log out and log back in frequently, there is a better login system that can send a temporary code to your email address or sign in with Apple or Google. The user interface for logging in has been improved and includes fun animations that have already been enjoyed by people on the other side of the world.

When handling media in the app, there will be smother animations and the app icon will match the color and dark mode of the phone. The downloads section can now have items prioritized so that you can download images before your friend's dance recital video.

There is a better way to share your Telegram user profile. The old t.me/username is more difficult to share and is not as accessible.

The process of adding more premium features for Telegram subscribers has had some bumps. In June, the founder mentioned removing ads, as well as power user-targeted features, such as large file support, and these emoji reactions.

The new animated emoji feature will change how people express themselves. Apple blocked an earlier update with "Telemoji" that apparently came too close to Apple's custom designs, but Telegram eventually added "hundreds of vector-based emojis with smooth animations."
