A Massachusetts lawmaker requested a federal investigation into the relocation of migrants to the island.

A Democrat from Martha's Vineyard called on the Justice Department to look into the matter after it was revealed that a plane carrying 50 migrants from Texas to the island cost more than $600,000 in taxpayer money.

The migrants'arrival at Martha's Vineyard was not communicated to Massachusetts officials. Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said that the migrants were taken to a military base shelter.

The Department of Justice is being requested to open an investigation to hold those responsible for the inhumane acts accountable. There are legal implications around fraud, kidnapping, and deprivation of liberty.

The state representative said that he spoke with the US Attorney in Massachusetts, who was pushing the DOJ for a response to the actions of the congressman.

The immigrant families were said to be in good health by the man.

They expressed gratitude for how well they are being cared for. Humanitarian organizations, legal services, and interpreters are working to connect the families with every resource they need in the dining hall.

Kids were playing catch in the field with donated baseball gear that was given to them. A child is meeting with a doctor for the first time. The families were shown the dignity and respect they deserved.

The move from the Massachusetts state legislator comes after lawyers representing the migrants said they want a criminal investigation into the case.

They wrote that their clients were lured to board airplanes and cross state lines.

The lawyers said their clients were given a lot of information upon arriving at the Massachusetts island.

The lawyers wrote that people working in concert with the Florida Governor made false promises to their clients in order to get them to travel.

The migrants were victims of a crime after being lured under false pretenses, according to the sheriff.

"I believe people need to be held accountable for their actions," he said. I can tell you that the statute they broke is wrong, but I can't say for certain. What was done to these people is not right.
