Clark: Broncos not run by an 'elite quarterback' (0:45)

The Broncos have struggled in the first two weeks of the football season. There is a time and a place for this.

The clock has already struck midnight on the Broncos' clock management problems.

He said Monday that he and his staff had already met on the topic and would continue the review into the evening.

The communication needs to be clear and concise. I need to get that information to the quarterback quicker. It needs to get better.

After Sunday's 16-9 victory over the Houston Texans, the Broncos moved to 2-0, but they have had trouble with the play clock and penalties.

The Broncos have been assessed four delay of game penalties already this season, including two in the win over the Texans on field goal attempts, and they used their last timeout of the game because they couldn't get their act together.

The Texans used a timeout in the second half when they didn't have a returner on the field because there were only 10 players in the formation. The crowd at Empower Field at Mile High counted down the play clock when the Broncos had the ball in the fourth quarter.

It is about organization and communication. The process needs to be tightened so we can make better decisions. Being on the same page with Russell Wilson is the most important thing.

He said that he and his staff have reviewed how many people are communicating with him on the headsets. He said he had an appreciation for all of the times when he was an offensive coach.

It's funny looking back at all my time in the past and the conversations that go on, you always have an opinion, and it's interesting that it is now your opinion, your decision, is the one that matters I want to be sure that I am the most efficient that I can possibly be, and to this point I haven't done that, but I can do a lot better.
