The San Francisco 49ers quarterback suffered a season-ending right ankle injury against the Seattle Seahawks.
Lance had successful surgery on his injured right ankle a day after the Niners' 27-7 victory over the Seahawks. According to a statement from the team, Lance's ankle injury was repaired on Monday at the hospital.
Lance took to social media to let people know how he is feeling after the surgery.
Lance posted a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed with his right ankle in a cast and smiling.
All of the messages and prayers have been appreciated by me. He wrote that surgery was a success and that he was ready to begin the rehabilitation process. We will never understand why, but I believe that it's part of his plan. I will return better than before. The chapter is going to make the story better.
Truly appreciate all of the messages and prayers. Surgery was a success and I am ready to attack this rehab process. We will never understand why, but I trust that it's all a part of His plan. I will be back better than ever. This chapter is going to make the story even greater! pic.twitter.com/l5hoBWsLDw

A return this season has been ruled out, but Lance will be back in time for the next season.
Lance will be placed on injured reserve this week as Jimmy Garoppolo takes over as the starter. Another quarterback is expected to be added to the active roster or the practice squad by the 49ers.
Lance decided to keep the ball instead of handing it off to Ray-Ray McCloud because of the ankle injury. Lance ran up the middle, but was met in the hole by Barton after he gained 2 yards.
Lance's right ankle appeared to fold under him when he fell. Lance looked like he was going to get back up, but instead he went back down. Lance was taken to the locker room with his leg in an air cast after his teammates gave him encouragement.
Lance's injury was serious immediately after the Niners' win against Seattle, according to most of the players and coaches who spoke after the game.
Lance heard from people who had been through similar injuries, such as defensive end Nick Bosa, who tore theACL in his left knee in the second week of the 2020 season.
Bosa said it was the worst part of the game. There is no going back. You feel like your life is over after that. After that, you start your road back. He will be back and he will be fine. Right now, it's really difficult.
