Gay was suspended for four games by the league for violating its personal conduct policy.

Gay was charged with criminal property damage of less than $1,000 in January.

The suspension will start immediately. He can come back after the Week 6 game against Buffalo.

Gay is not allowed to have any contact with team officials for the next two weeks. He can go to team meetings after two weeks.

Gay started both games for the Chiefs and was second on the team in tackles. He was the leader in tackles for loss and passes defended.

In the first two games of the season, Kansas City opened in nickel defense against the Padres and theCardinals, and Nick Bolton has been the team's other starting LB.

The third round of this year's draft saw the drafting of a linebacker by the Kansas City Chiefs. The other linebackers are veterans and rookies, including Jack Cochrane.
