iFixit shared a video of the standard Apple phone. Kyle Wiens, CEO of iFixit, praised the device's more repairable internal design.
According to iFixit, the display and back glass panel are secured with two screws and one or two connections.
"This is such a big deal that it should have been Apple's big announcement, the redesign of the phone makes it easier to repair," said Wiens.
A sandwich consisting of the display, a mid frame housing most of the internal components, and a back glass panel is what the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models are. If a customer's display and back glass are not damaged, Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will be able to replace the mid frame with a new one.

The new metal midframe required an internal redesign, as well as an RF rethink and an effective doubling of their protection perimeter. The internals of the iPhone have been reworked to make it easier to repair.
The new internal design results in lower repair fees for models with cracked back glass.
After the back glass is replaced on the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus, a software calibration process called System Configuration is required. It's not clear what will happen if System Configuration isn't completed, but possibilities include a non-genuine part warning being displayed on the device, issues with wireless charging, or a rear-facing microphone.

iFixit is working on a teardown of the phone. The internal redesign of the devices doesn't extend to the front side of the device.
iFixit noted that the U.S. models of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have a large gap where the sim tray slot used to be. A close-up shot of the standard logic board with components like the A15 Bionic chip and the X65 modem is provided in the teardown.
