The city of St. is located in the northeastern part of the United States Albert Pujols went hitless in his quest for 700 homers, but the St. LouisCardinals swept a twin bill from the Cincinnati Reds.
In the opener, Pujols hit second for the first time this season. He walked in his first two plate appearances. Both walks were booed by the sold-out crowd.
In the second game, he struck out.
Pujols is 42 years old, but Oliver Marmol said it's not a problem to play him so frequently.
He's in the lineup when it's a winning one. It is not a matter of whether we are facing a left or righty. He is in there because he is doing a good job against everyone. To make sure he's fresh, it's a matter of resting him.
Pujols hit a home run in Friday's win over Cincinnati. In 48 games since July 10, he's hitting.317 with 15 homers and 35 runs.

The night game was won when Andrew Knizner scored on a throwing error by center fielder Nick Senzel.

Minor was fighting his control. I was unable to throw where I wanted to. I wasn't able to throw strikes. It's difficult to get guys out if you cannot throw a strike.
The Reds lost their eighth game in a row.
Cincinnati manager David Bell thought his team hit some balls hard but their defense made some nice plays.
Hudson, who hadn't pitched in the majors since August, gave up six hits and two runs in his first big league start.
Marmol said that they've been looking for that all year. I think it's super efficient. That is exactly what we have been looking for. Outing was legit.
Hudson was sent to Memphis.
Hudson has been trying to help the team win. I had to tell myself that we were going to do it. It's a good time to go to Memphis for four hours. It made me angry but maybe it will help me turn the page.
Two runs in the second were all the Cards needed to take the lead. Edman and Goldschmidt walked with the bases loaded. The Reds have 14 bases- loaded walks this season, second most in MLB.
The third baseman hit his fifth home run of the season, a drive to left.
Minor gave him a pitchman. I could have knocked it out.
There were three homers in September.
Marmol said that he had done a good job. His approach is what's needed. The field is being used by him. He's trying to do damage.

Pujols moved past Stan Musial for fourth place on the all-time appearances list in a team victory. The two walks gave Pujols a total of 1,362 with the Cards.
