Elon Musk says SpaceX's Starlink internet is active on all 7 continents

According to Musk, Starlink was available on every continent, meaning it had reached its goal.

"Starlink is now active on all of the planet," the CEO of the company said.

He said that Starlink was meant for peaceful use only.

The Starlink satellites were scrubbed five times because of bad weather. The 3,076 Starlink satellites are in low- Earth orbit. The goal is to have as many satellites as possible.

The goal of Starlink is to provide high-speed internet to areas that are hard to connect to broadband service.

One of the most notable areas that Starlink is operating in is Ukranian. Musk sent Starlink terminals to the country after Mykhailo Fedorov asked for help.

Despite being active on seven continents, Starlink failed to get the FCC's approval for an $886 million subsidy to expand the internet service to rural homes and businesses Starlink didn't demonstrate that the providers could deliver the promised service, according to the FCC.

The FCC's rejection was "flawed as a matter of both law and policy", according to the regulatory filing.

CNBC reported in May that there were more than 400,000 subscribers around the world.
