Former US Attorney says he's frightened by the 'prospect of a second Trump administration': 'I shudder to think about it'

The thought of Donald Trump being re-elected makes me cringe.

Trump is holding his announcement until after the elections in November. He keeps repeating that the election was not stolen.

The former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York said on "Meet the Press" that a second term for Trump would be dangerous.

I don't want to think about it. Berman is afraid of a second Trump administration. If there is a second administration, all of the dangerous and outrageous things he did as president will be repeated.

He knew he had to stand for reelection when he was president. He will be free of those concerns if there's another administration.

After his Mar-A-Lago property was raided for a bunch of confidential documents, Trump said on Truth Social that the raid was one of the most egregious assaults on democracy in the history of our country. NBC reported that Trump decried the "unprecedented weaponization of the Justice Department and the FBI."

Berman was a volunteer for the Trump campaign in 2016

Berman said that Trump was trying to portray himself as the victim of a politicized department of justice. The Department of Justice was politicized under Trump and Barr. There isn't any evidence that he was a victim.

Berman doesn't think that the raid will lead to any indictments of Trump before the elections.

Berman said that nothing dramatic should be expected before the election.
