The science fantasy movie will be back in theaters next week. It has been easy to point out the lack of memorable characters or even much of a plot in the film, but there is more to it than that. If audiences were able to see the movie back then, it would be the perfect time for them to be reintroduced to the world of Pandora.

The director told the New York Times that he was pleasantly surprised by the film's hold up. He wants to see how the film lands for those who weren't alive in 2009, or for those who've only seen it on cable. Even though they may have seen the film, they haven't seen it yet. He said that his children understood the film better now that they had the chance to see it on the big screen.

The age of streaming has led to discussions about what makes a film worth seeing in theaters. The rerelease of his film is positive as there continues to be a rise of seeing movies in the theater for those who feel safe. The Woman King and Barbarian are both in theaters right now and he is pretty confident that his film will get a lot of attention. The type of film that you need to see in a theater is what people are craving.

The Way of Water will be released on December 16th, and the film will be shown on September 23rd.
