According to Fox's Jay Glazer, Jameis Winston will play for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday despite having four fractured bones in his back.

He is in a lot of pain and will be wearing extra padding. The veteran signal- caller has been in pain all week.

After taking a hit in the fourth quarter of the Saints' Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, he was checked out in the medical tent and returned to the bench. He stated after the game that he was in pain.

When asked where the pain was, the man said it was just pain. It was throbbing all over the place.

He was listed as questionable for Sunday's game with a back injury. He told reporters that he was still sore from the game.

Over the last two years, he has been injured.

The first overall pick in the 2015 draft appeared in just seven games in the 2020 season before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament and missing the rest of the season. He had a foot injury during the preseason in 2022, and now has a back problem.

He completed 23 of 34 passes for 269 yards and two touchdown against the Falcons. He carried the ball for nine yards.

The Saints have defeated the Buccaneers in seven straight regular season meetings.

The Saints are in first place in the South with a 2-0 record if they beat the Buccaneers.
