Fall deals: Round-trip flights to warm-weather cities for around $100

It was hard to find round-trip airfare with less than two digits. It is becoming more and more common for prices to fall in the fall.

There are some great deals on flights to warm U.S. cities for a fall escape.

Depending on where you live, there may be deals for around $100 round-trip to places such as Miami or Austin.

Whether you want to spend a couple of fall days at Walt Disney World, walk the French Quarter without the holiday crowds, or attend the Austin City Limits music festival, there are plenty of good options to choose from.

Deal basics

The airlines are American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines.

New York/Washington to Miami, Fort Lauderdale andOrlando are some of the routes.

The travel dates are from October to November.

It's possible to book directly with the airlines or with the internet search engine.

We found some sub-$100 round-trip options on legacy U.S. carriers.

• Denver to Austin for $90 on United.
• Los Angeles to Austin for $108 on Delta.
• New York to Miami for $98 on JetBlue.
• Washington to Orlando for $128 on JetBlue.
• Washington to Miami for $138 on JetBlue.
• Miami to Austin for $138 on American.
• New York to Orlando for $118 on United.

One of the cheapest ways to go to South Florida is from the New York area. There are a number of ways to travel for less than $100. The last week of October has a departure from Newark/Liberty International Airport to Miami International Airport for $98 on United. It takes about three hours to fly.

Travelers from the Washington, D.C. area can go to Disney World, Universal Studios or other attractions for less than $100. There are flights between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and the MCO in November.

There are cheap flights to Austin in the fall. I was able to find flights between Los Angeles and Austin. The first week of November is when these flights happen.

You can get to Austin from Denver. You can get a flight out of Denver International Airport on United for $90.

It's a good time to plan a trip to a warm place in the fall as the weather gets cooler. If you want to avoid the largest crowds and the highest fares, these deals are for October and November.
