Warner Bros. Discovery surprised everyone when they said a sequel to Constantine was in the works. It seemed like a pleasant shock when the corporation announced that they were working on a series for the Hellblazer, but it wasn't until years later that one remembered. The situation for the show is similar to what happened with Max.
The Madame Xanadu series and the new Constantine show are both dead at the moment. Sources say that WB Television and Bad Robot are trying to find a home for the shows at another streamer. Batman: Caped Crusader is one of the DC shows that is being done by Abrams. Variety said that four scripts for the show, set in a contemporary London, were already done, and that the show was in early talks with an actor to play the eponymous sorcerer.
WB Discovery seems to be planning to license shows and intellectual property to other streaming services. Supernatural horror series don't really go out of style, and there's clearly a fan base for these types of projects. Hopefully both shows will become the next thing for viewers to watch.
