The pound has dropped to a 37 year low against the dollar as the UK is facing an energy crisis. Some people on casual contracts complain that they have been forced to take a pay cut because of the Queen's funeral, because they are stressed about losing their income.

As their workplace in Kent shuts down, Syd is going to lose a day of work on Monday.

This means they have lost over fifty dollars, which equates to two weekly food shops for the area.

"I know that £50 is not a lot of money for some people, but I'm in a situation where the only thing I can do is to borrow that money from friends."
