Queen Elizabeth II did not want a long, boring funeral service, according to the former archbishop.

Ahead of the monarch's funeral, the interview was aired on "Sunday With Laura Kuensberg". The Queen's funeral service has been in the works for 17 years, according to the former archbishop of York.

He said that the Queen didn't want boring services.

He said "Oh yeah, yeah, yeah" when asked if the royal told him.

The choir of the Abbey and the Chapels Royal can be heard in the upcoming event, as can be seen in the 1662 funeral prayer books. According to the former archbishop, the funeral will warm people's hearts and lift them to glory.

The Queen wrote a letter four weeks after the funeral of Prince Philip. He said she thanked him for his support and wrote, "It isn't easy when you're having to do it in public."

He thinks that the new king and the Royal Family are grieving publicly and need a place to do it.

The cleric went to the Queen to ask for permission to step down. He said the Queen stood with her hands around his as he asked for her prayers.

The Queen's lying-in-state period will end on Monday, the day before her funeral. Billions of people will watch the funeral on television.

The royal family spoke out about their grief after she died.

Prince William said in a September 10 statement that he feels "incredibly grateful" as he mourns the death of his grandmother. The queen consort said in the interview that her mother-in-law had beautiful blue eyes and a smiling face.
