eBay bans sale of Queen lying-in-state wristbands

Wristbands for the queue to see the Queen are no longer on eBay.

The paper coloured bands marked mourners' place in the queue as souvenirs.

There is no guarantee that you will be able to file past the Queen's coffin if you are in a non-transferable band.

The items are against the website's policies, and they are being removed.

A few of the wristbands remained on the site but did not link to an active auction or buy-it-now page.

The wristbands were attracting bids of up to $70,000 before they were taken away. It wasn't known if the bids were legit.

People are being warned to stay away from the queue.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is expected to make a decision about when the line will be closed.

The wait time is at least 13 hours, according to government officials.

There will be a public viewing of the Queen lying in state for four and a half hours on Monday.
