The next Grand Theft Auto game could be one of the most anticipated video games of all time, and a new purported leak could give us our best look yet at the game. A trove of data, discovered by PC Gamer, contains some 90 videos of clips from the game, with code and interface running to help back up the claims.

The hacker, who goes by the name 'teapotuberhacker' on the GTAForums, claims that they got the video by gaining access to an employee's Slack account.

The leaks themselves appear legitimate, or fakes created with such a high degree of attention to detail and authenticity that they have won over what was initially a very skepticalGTAForums member audience.

Some clips from the leak show both male and female protagonists, which is in line with other reports about what to expect in the game. Early reports about what Grand Theft Auto 6 will bring to the franchise have been matched by the footage shown.

It is possible that the videos are from around the year 2017. It would be reasonable to expect development snapshots from various builds over the years as the game has been in development since the original launch of the game.

Many took as a sign that it was winding down active development on the long-running and much-expanded fifth game in the series, when the credits from Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online were rolled out on the company's website.

We reached out to Take-Two Interactive, but they didn't reply immediately. We will add more if and when they respond.
