For the first time in his career, Tom Brady seems to be taking advantage of his status as the greatest quarterback of all time and using somePTO.

Brady will get a "veteran's day" off from Wednesday practice in the early part of the 2022, according to Ian Rapoport. In training camp, Brady took 11 days off to go on a family vacation.

According to Rapoport, Brady made a promise to his family during the off-season that led to the vacation. The veteran, who has been in the league for 23 years, has been given some wiggle room, and other veterans will also get days off.

"I think when you play in the league a certain amount of time and you prepare a certain way, it's not necessary to practice that guy all the time," said the Jets coach. You aren't going to practice all the time. It is a long season, so you will get a day off here and there.

The team is one of the most injury prone in the league. There were several injuries to the offensive line during training camp, and they will go into Week 2 without Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Leonard Fournette.

There were no ill effects of Brady's absence in the win over the Cowboys. The defense smothered the Dallas offense and the offense was not great.
