There was no evidence to support Donald Trump's claim that the government was threatening people with prison sentences to make them dislike him.
"They go in to people that know me, and they threaten them with jail time," Trump said while speaking at a rally in Ohio on Saturday.
If you say something bad about Trump, you won't have to go to jail, but if you say something good about him, they'll put you in jail.

These people are not succumbing to the threats because they are legitimate, according to Trump.
The former president didn't say who he was talking about or if they are in prison.
Trump complained about the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago property and other investigations he has faced in the last six years during his speech.
In addition to the Department of Justice investigation into his handling of federal records, Trump and his businesses are currently involved in at least a dozen significant investigations and lawsuits.
He said he has been "persecuted like no other president, probably like no one in American history" because of his supporters' political oppression.
He repeated baseless allegations that his campaign was spied on and said that the consequences would be worse if the allegations were made about him.
Do you think I would spy on the campaign? Is it possible to forget about Obama? Imagine what it would be like if Trump spied on Obama. It could possibly be death. The death penalty would be reintroduced.
In the past, Trump has accused his campaign of being spied on but has changed his story many times.
At the rally, Trump spoke in favor of the Republican candidate.
