Houston teammates get into shoving match on sidelines (0:56)

Sam Brown got pushed by Joseph Manjack IV as he returned to the Houston sideline. It was :56

12:04 AM ET

A fight broke out on the sideline during Houston's 4830 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks.

"It's unacceptable, and you're not going to win games like that when you do things like that," said Houston coach Dana Holgorsen. My job is to keep harping on that.

After a Houston penalty, wide receiver Joseph Manjack IV approached Sam Brown Jr., also a wide receiver, on the sideline, shoving him to the ground as Brown grabbed Manjack's facemask. The fracas were broken by teammates and staff. The Jayhawks had a 28-14 lead.

"Manjack went over there and confronted Sam, which is not the right thing to do," he said. He knew he was wrong and felt bad about it.

Houston let a 14-7 lead slip away at home against a team that will be competing in the Big 12 next season.

There is a lot of blame to go around. I was out- coached. We were out-coached on both sides of the ball. Don't put it on me. There's a lot of work to be done.

Manjack had three catches in the game. The reception was not recorded by Brown.

Manjack hugged it out with Sam two minutes later. And he said sorry.

The goal for the season was to make a New Year's six bowl, but it looks like it won't happen. Next Saturday, Houston will host Rice.
