Customers around the world have begun to receive the new phones. We have put together a list of 10 useful settings that are worth checking out if you have upgraded to a device.

Some of the settings are exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models, while others were introduced in the new version of the operating system.

New Settings for iPhone 14 Pro Models

Enable 48MP ProRAW Photos

The upgraded rear camera system in the 14 Pro models can shoot 48MP, but only in ProRAW mode, which can be enabled in the settings app. A button labeled "RAW" can be found in the top right corner of the camera app.

The ProRAW photos have more detail in them. If you shoot photos in this mode, be aware of your phone's storage space because the files are very large and take up a lot of space.

Enable 4K Cinematic Mode

Cinematic mode videos can now be recorded in 4K on all four of the iPhones. You can enable the higher resolution in the settings app by selecting 4K at 24 frames per second or 30 frames per second.

The Cinematic mode has a depth effect with automatic focus changes.

Optimize Action Mode for Lower Light

The new Action mode on the four iPhone 14 models adjusts to shakes, motion, and vibrates for a smooth looking video. The feature can be used to record video while off-roading, filming a runner, and more.

There is a button in the top left corner of the camera app. Action mode can be adjusted for lower-light conditions by using the settings app.

Turn On a Startup Sound

When powered on and off, the new accessibility feature can play a sound. The power on and off sounds feature can be turned on in the settings app.

Turn Off the Always-On Display

The always on display mode is enabled by default. You can turn it off in the settings app.

The Lock Screen still shows the time, date, wallpaper, and unread notifications even though the entire screen is dim. The display will come back to normal brightness when you raise the phone, tap or jiggle it on the bottom of the screen, or hold the side button.

New Settings in iOS 16

Turn On Haptic Feedback for Keyboard

There is a new feedback option for the stock keyboard in the latest version of the software. The physical confirmation that the key was tapped can be provided by the small vibrating sound after each key that you press.

The feature is in the settings app.

Add a Battery Percentage Icon to Status Bar

The option to view a battery percentage icon in the status bar on the iPhone X and newer was reintroduced in the latest version of the operating system. The new icon on iPhone 14 Pro models can be enabled by going to the settings app and looking at the battery percentage.

Automatically Send Messages With Siri

There is a new option to skip the confirmation step in order to send a message. If you want to automatically send messages, you have to use the settings app.

When an Apple device is connected to headphones, the feature can be turned on.

Ask Siri to Hang Up a Phone Call

It's possible to say "Hey Siri, hang up" during a phone call in a hands-free manner, but note that the command can be heard by other people on the call. This feature can be enabled in the settings.

View Wi-Fi Passwords

You can now see the password of the wi-fi network that you've previously connected to on the go. To access the password in the settings app, you need to tap the password field and then use Face ID.
