Manti Te'o made his first public appearance on campus in nearly a decade after it was revealed he was the victim of a strange high.
It's great to be at home. Home is no place like other places. I would like to make this clear. I don't think it's about me. It isn't about a single person. Te'o spoke to fans before the Notre Dame game against California.
Fans were happy to hear about Te'o. He went to Mass with the team at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart before walking to the stadium. He spoke to the crowd with the Touchdown Jesus mural behind him.
Te'o said that the team needed everyone. It's easy to get on the bandwagon when things are going well. It's easy to get along when things are going well. Who is with me? I don't know who is going to push me off the wagon. I'm here because of that.
Te'o high fived fans as he walked through the crowd. Te'o answered questions from the media before the game. Since news of the hoax broke, he's returned to Notre Dame four times.
He was worried about it because he didn't want to talk about it again.
I'm happy with the facts that are out there. It has been positive since Day 1.
