Gates knows that the US lags behind other countries when it comes to paid family medical leave.

The billionaire philanthropist said in an interview with Fortune that we are the only industrialized country that doesn't have a robust paid family medical leave policy. There are too many men with seats of power on Capitol Hill in the US.

According to a report from the Congressional Research Service, there is a record number of women in the 116th Congress. Of the 535 seats in the Congress, 136 are held by people of color, which is 25% of the Senate and House.

The world won't achieve gender equality until at least 2108, three generations behind previous projections, according to a report published by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

French Gates said that a lot of the time, they think they'll get there on gender equality. We kick up a percentage point or two when it comes to female representation in government.

The disparity in funding between male and female political candidates was pointed out by FRENCH GATES.

She said in the interview that they don't finance women's campaigns like men's. That is a big problem.
