During the month of October, Singapore Airlines is offering its latest "Spontaneous Escapes" discounts, which can be booked until September 30th. The deals between New York and Singapore may be worth a look.

Singapore Airlines Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes

The Deal

  • Singapore Airlines has released this month’s Spontaneous Escapes, offering discounts on some routes to/from Singapore and Europe. This month’s deals must be booked by 9/30/22 and flown between October 1-31, 2022 (though note that some routes feature blackout dates). Sale options include:
    • New York (JFK) to/from Frankfurt for 36,400 miles each way in premium economy (Frankfurt – JFK blacked out October 1-3)
    • Newark to Singapore for 56,350 miles one way in premium economy (Singapore – EWR blacked out October 1-3)
    • Singapore to New York (JFK) or New York (Newark) to Singapore for 56,350 miles one way in premium economy (Singapore- JFK blacked out October 1-3, JFK-Singapore blacked out October 1-9)

There is a direct link to the offer.

  • Must book by 9/30/22
  • Must fly between 10/1/22 and 10/31/22

One of the thinner lists we have seen for premium-cabin travel and the options for business class awards are disappointing.

The Premium Economy deals may still be worth looking at for people in North America. You can get flights between New York and Frankfurt for 36,400 miles in premium economy with Singapore Airlines. Extra legroom and decent in-flight entertainment for a small premium over what most airlines charge in economy class is appealing for a daytime flight back to the US.

It's probably an ok deal to fly from JFK and Newark to Singapore in Premium Economy for 56.350 miles one way. It isn't something to write home about, but if you're looking to travel next month, it may be appealing.
