The demonic detective work of John Constantine is still going on. According to reports from Variety and Deadline, there will be a sequel to the film Constantine.
Both outlets confirmed that Warner Bros. is working on a follow-up film, which also brings back writer Akiva Goldsman and director Francis Lawrence, who originally made his debut with Constantine, but has gone on to helm movies like The Hunger Games and I Am Legend. The film will be produced by Weed Road Pictures, along with J.J.
While other versions of the DC comic book character Constantine have appeared before, this is the first time that he has played the role again. According to sources, the Constantine spinoff series has been canceled after two years of development. The series, which was rumored to follow the Hellblazer comic that Constantine hails from, is one of the casualties of the Warner Bros. and Discovery merger.
Variety and Deadline are reporting that Madame X, a show based on DC's Madame Xanadu, has also been axed. The cancellation of Batgirl was a way for Warner Bros. to save some money. Variety says Warner Bros. is confident that another network will pick up the Constantine and Madame X series.
I am looking forward to seeing what type of adventure Constantine will embark on this time. Between last year's premiere of Matrix Resurrections and another JohnWick film on tap, we've had no shortage of Keanu content recently.
