The climate envoy for the president hopes King Charles will continue his work on global warming.

The King has the ability to leverage the kind of action we need now on a global basis, according to John Kerry.

He said the monarch had made it clear that he wanted to maintain his passion for the environment.

Mr Kerry wanted the King to attend the next UN climate summit.

The former Secretary of State told Laura that he had been invited to see the Prince of Wales in Scotland to discuss the climate crisis, but the meeting was canceled after the Queen died.

Mr Kerry hopes that the King will push for radical action to tackle climate change within the constitution.

He said that there is a threat to the entire planet and he understands it as well as anyone on the planet.

He's been on this issue for a long time and he's for real.

He's been a leader because he knows the issues inside and out.

According to Mr Kerry, the King wanted to be "relevant and try to be engaged" and that he hoped he would continue to be active on environmental issues.

He is an important convener and someone who can leverage the kind of action we need now on a global basis.

He said that the challenge was as significant as any threat had been.

The first time such a role has existed within the White House was when Mr. Kerry was appointed President Joe Biden's special envoy for climate.

In the last few months, he has spoken about the impact of the war in Ukraine on efforts to limit global heating to 1.5C by the year 2030.

"You don't want to be a prisoner of your energy source, Europe wants to liberate itself from its dependence on Russian gas," Mr Kerry told Laura.

He said it would be "terrifying" if the King could attend the climate change summit in Egypt in November.

According to Mr Kerry, the next gathering will see a "raising of ambition" by countries that were unable to sign up at the COP26 summit in Glasgow last year to limit the planet's temperature increase to 1.5C.

He said that it would take a huge effort to get there.
