According to sources, E.J. Warner will start for Temple against Rutgers.
Warner got the nod for his first career start after a strong performance against Lafayette on Saturday. In the second quarter, he completed 14 of 19 passes for 173 yards and two touchdown.
Warner didn't get recruited very highly out of high school, but he picked Temple over other schools. Kurt Warner's story is similar to his father's, as he played college football at Northern Iowa before earning a shot in the NFL.
Warner was a football player in high school. Danny Langsdorf coached his brother at Nebraska and he had a connection to Temple.
Quincy Patterson, a former Virginia Tech and North Dakota State quarterback, was thought to be the front-runner for the starting position.
