Saul 'Canelo' is wary of the threat posed by Gennady Golovkin but plans to win their trilogy bout this weekend.

The Mexican, 32, will defend his super-middleweight title against the Kazakh, 40, in Las Vegas.

The first encounter was a controversial one, with Alvarez winning the second.

"I'll be trying to get the stop," said the man. This is as tense as I have been before.

He said that he works better under pressure. I put a lot of pressure on myself to get this done. I will try to beat my opponent on Saturday night.

He has won 57 fights with two draws and two defeats.

The only blemish on Golovkin's 44-fight record is the two fights he had with Canelo.

'This time it's personal'

One of the greatest rivalries in the current era of championship boxing, with the two future hall-of-famers having already shared 24 controversial rounds in the 160lb middleweight division, is about to take place.

This fight is being fought at a heavy weight of 168 lbs (12 stones) with Golovkin the heaviest he has ever been for a fight at 167.8 lbs.

"This time it's personal" between the two men according to Matchroom Boxing'sEddie Hearn.

The undisputed championship is on the line and they really want to win that, but it's just personal.

Canelo doesn't want him. Gennady Golovkin doesn't usually say it to the media. Gennady is also a bad person. He is a nice person but he has a bad side.

The first fight of the trilogy should have taken place at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena, according to many fans and commentators.

He appeared to land the cleaner blows in an all-action encounter, but the judges scored it 115-113 to Golovkin, 114- 114, and 118-110 to Alvarez.

Their rivalry and war of words got worse when the second match was delayed after he was banned for six months for failing two drug tests.

After the first bout, the two boxers faced each other again at the same venue, with the winner taking home the title. The more eye-catching shots were landed by the victor.

The first fight was epic, according to Hearn. The boxing champ chose to box and move. The fight was very close.

After the first fight, he decided to walk down Gennady Golovkin. The punishment they were given in those fights was very high. What were they doing?

'Back on the path to greatness' - Alvarez

Alvarez says Golovkin fight is 'personal'

The undisputed super-middleweight champion is coming off a loss after being defeated by a light-heavyweight champion.

He said at the news conference that he was motivated to be here. We are back on the path to greatness despite the loss.

He believes that his fighter will bounce back with a victory.

Coming off back-to-back defeats, he is in a terrible position. He was pound-for-pound number one, all of a sudden, you probably put him outside of the top 10 if he doesn't win.

It would be a quick demise from that invincibility we thought he had. There's a lot of pressure on him, but he's ready to go.

Since his last fight with Golovkin, he has dominated the sport and become a pound-for-pound star.

Over the last four years, Golovkin's career has remained stagnant. He has competed just four times. His best wins were against two people.

He didn't want to talk about their previous bouts.

"I think this is the biggest thing for boxing right now, the biggest gift for you, the fans." I feel like I'm at home. I'm strong. You can see us Saturday night.

Johnathon Banks joked that the Las Vegas Police Department's robbery division would be at the arena. Hopefully the judges won't steal again.
