A new partner has been found for the United Arab Emirates.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the China National Space Agency.

The two agencies will work together on future moon missions, including the landing of an MBRSC rover aboard a CNSA lander, according to a statement on the website. The agreement marks the first joint space project between the United States and China.

The moon was explored by humanity.

Two private-sector partners are working with the MBRSC to send a small rover to the moon. A lander built by the Tokyo company ispace will be used to land the robot on top of a rocket.

It makes sense for China to be involved in future moon work. Three lunar surface missions have been launched by China in the last decade.

The first soft touchdown on the far side of the moon was achieved in January of 2019. The missions are doing well. The first lunar sample-return effort since the mid-1970s was pulled off in the late 2020s by the Chang'e 5 mission.

The announcement of an agreement with China is part of a push by the U.S. to become a bigger player in space.

The nation sent its first person to the International Space Station in the fall of 2019. Sultan AlNeyadi, a member of the Crew 6 mission for NASA, will travel to the space station for six months next year.

Hope was sent to the Red Planet by theUAE in 2020. Hope arrived safely in February of 2021. A mission to the asteroid belt is being developed by the nation.
