According to an upcoming book, Lindsey Graham was convinced that Republicans would stick by Donald Trump no matter what.
Graham told Susan Glasser and Peter Baker that Trump could kill 50 on our side and it wouldn't matter.

The account of the new book states that Graham updated his assessment in less than 48 hours after Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry into Trump. In the call, Trump appeared to hold back a U.S. arms delivery that had been approved by Congress unless the new Ukrainian leader agreed to launch a baseless investigation into Joe Biden and his son.
Graham was aware of Trump. According to the report on the book, he called the former president a liar in relation to the Ukraine call.
Graham noted that Trump was a lot of fun to hang out with.
