Even though Matt Ryan is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, he will still have to relive a painful memory.

The ball Ryan used to surpass 60,000 career passing yards was displayed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame this week.

The serial number on the ball was "283", which is quite similar to the number that Ryan and his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, are notorious for. Atlanta led New England 28-3 in the third quarter of the Super Bowl before the Pats came back to win.

🗣 New to the Pro Football Hall of Fame

This past weekend, @Colts QB @M_Ryan02 became only the eighth QB in NFL history to reach 60,000 career passing yards.

Ryan wasn't aware that he was in the locker room. He said he didn't know. I don't look at the number.

The Colts prepare many footballs for each game and play them throughout the game. The ball Ryan used to surpass 60,000 yards was random, according to a team spokesman. After being sent to the Hall of Fame, the ball was taken out of rotation and put aside.

Ryan became the eighth quarterback to pass 60,000 passes. He's the second fastest to reach the mark, after Drew Brees.
