The New York Yankees have activated left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman from the 15-day injured list.
Chapman went to theIL on August 27 because of an illness on his legs. It was Chapman's second stint on the injured list this season, he missed time May 24 to June 30 because of left Achilles tendinitis
The Yankees' closer this season, Chapman, has a 4.70 earned run average in 3023 appearances and has lost his job. Since his previous return from the injured list, Chapman has faced a.164 batting average against him.
Chapman gave up a hit with two strikeouts and a walk in an outing for Double-A.
Right-handed pitcher Ryan Weber was assigned to the Yankees. Weber had a 0.84 earned run and one save in five relief appearances for the New York Mets.
