Bottom line

Getting some of SkyTeam's alliance partners to honor the benefits might be difficult.

The most important benefit is the ability to access lounges when you travel. More lounges can be found through Star Alliance Gold and Oneworld Emerald.

Benefits are nice to have when travelling on another SkyTeam carrier.
