I think Mr. DeSantis has outdone himself again. The sending of illegal immigrants to a sanctuary city proved what the governor was talking about. Greg Abbott of Texas thinks treating human beings like cargo and sending them off to another state accomplishes something. Immigrants are stripped of their dignity and pride for your dog and pony show. I don't think you are a good person. You represent all of Florida's political groups. Slave traders did the same thing.

Who paid for flying them out instead of busing them out? You can get money from the state budget or not. Does the state of Florida have an immigration department with a secretary? Why didn't the department deal with these people from Venezuela? Why did you make a big deal out of this? You only showed how arrogant you are.

Many readers will agree with this treatment, but I want them to think about their relatives who came here from another country before voting.

Horrified by shameful stunt

I am horrified at the reports that our governor would send 15 immigrants to Martha's Vineyard. Is that really true? How could he pay for this stunt? Florida is willing to accept these immigrants. Is it possible that this will reflect favorably on him as a leader of our State of Florida? Does he know what it's like to struggle to breathe freely? Do you know the words "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? What kind of advice would lead a person to act in a certain way? Florida needs better than this.

Hold the negative comments

Negative comments about illegal immigrants moving to Martha's Vineyard should stop. We should look at this as an opportunity to learn from the liberal elites as to how they resolve their affordable housing issue caused by this action and use that as a template for the rest of the country.

Poor leadership, judgment

A group of 48 people from Venezuela were sent to Martha's Island by Florida taxpayers.

Will the kindness of year-round residents there show what DeSantis doesn't have, a heart or an ounce of human dignity?

It's not likely that he's providing them with winter clothes.

It's not likely that they'll be able to gain employment during the winter.

He probably wouldn't be able to give them any funds from the $50,000 plate dinner he had there.

His resume is filled with poor leadership and judgement, from leading the country in COVID deaths to giving the cold shoulder to these people.

Governor does the right thing

The Biden administration dumped illegal aliens in Florida and the governor did the right thing and shipped them out.

Sanctuary cities and states need to take their fair share.

Grandstanding costs the state

I'm fed up with taxpayers footing the bill for campaign stunts. The man refuses to answer questions at every press conference. He has spent his entire first term furthering his authoritarian agenda, turning schools into political battlegrounds, trying to legislate his version of morality, and retaliating against companies and people who disagree with him.

The culture war policies and laws have resulted in a lot of lawsuits and who is paying for them? There are people in the state of Florida. It would be interesting to know how much he's cost the state.

He's pulled another stunt that costs us money. Rob decided to charter two planes to fly immigrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard because there wasn't enough immigrants in Florida. He needs to pay for the stunts out of his own pocket.

We need a governor who addresses real issues that impact Floridians, not someone who serves as a travel agent for immigrants from other states. Don't let this grifter go.

New motto to replace Statue of Liberty

Okay, let's get on with it. Take it down. There is a statue of Liberty.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled mass, send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

Let's replace it with a new slogan.

We don't trust science, so only enter with a PhD in Science, flush bank account, and nothing else. We have our own homeless because there are not enough things to go around here. You need a bachelor of arts degree to enter. Gangs are killing and threatening our families and you might be a socialist.

Go home, loser.

Shame on us as a state!

When you do it to the least of them, you do it for me.

The governor either hasn't heard the message or ignores it.

Instead of spending the state's money to help these migrants get settled and employed, he spends the money to load them on an airplane and send them somewhere else. We can help these people become good citizens by training and hiring them.

It's a terrible thing. Shame on us as a nation.

No compassion or humanity

There is an open letter to Florida's governor.

You either have lost your mind or you don't care about your fellow man. Do you not know that you look like a buffoon? Sending 50 people to Martha's Vineyard sealed your fate. You are told to step down as governor and never hold a public trust in any office.

Abuse of taxpayer money

Human traffic migrants from another state to Martha's Vineyard have been abused by the governor. Migrants, packed up like livestock, were shipped off without knowing where they were going to a destination that was woefully unprepared to accommodate them.

Red meat for racist, xenophobic base

The migrants were flown from Texas to Martha's Vineyard with the help of Florida tax dollars. misappropriation of public funds is defined as the misuse of public funds. The money should have been used to improve our infrastructure instead of being thrown away to appeal to his base.

The Republican Party became the party of liars and cheaters, the party of greed and corruption, over time. There is a vision of a lawless land where those in power control the people, enslave them, and take all the resources from them.
