According to multiple reports, Max Johnson will be the new quarterback for Texas A&M when they play the Miami Hurricanes.
In the first two games of the season, Johnson has tried just four passes. Haynes King started in both of those games. Fisher said earlier in the week that he would consider all options to get the offense going. In terms of scoring offense and total offense, the Aggies are 100th and 102nd, respectively.
Texas A&M only scored one offensive touchdown in the loss to Appalachian State, and King finished the game with 97 yards. 186 yards of total offense was achieved by the Aggies.
The starting job was up for grabs in the preseason. The competition was close and King won.
In 12 games as a starter for LSU last season, Johnson passed for 2,815 yards and 27 touchdown with six pick ups. In 2020, he made two starts. Jake Johnson, the younger brother of Brad Johnson, is a freshman at Texas A&M.
